Huskies are Champions!
This video is like a highlight reel for Danielle Lawrie when her team (Washington Huskies) won the championship. Danielle Lawrie is not just an amazing pitcher, but an amazing hitter too. Any team would be honoured to have her on their team. This year however, Washington got knocked out of the NCCA Championship, which was a big upset because they lost to Arizona. Regardless, I still think Danielle Lawrie is still one of the top pitchers out there! And I can only wish to make as many accomplishments as her!

Yet Another Rain Out...

Last weekend, June 5th and 6th, my team the Richmond Islanders headed down to the states for a very competitive tournament. This was a qualifying tournament, which meant the top teams would play in the USA Nationals. One year my team actually qualified, and we could have gone down to Florida, but we didn't. This weekend we were going to play the top teams in Washington and many of the girls already had scholarships for a university. Our whole team was very eager to play and couldn't wait to get started. On the first day, the sun was out and it was VERY hot! It also just happened that we were to be playing the top 3 teams from Washington. The first team we played we lost 2-1, but we should have won that game. Our bats weren't on and we made a few errors. That team was a very good team, especially at batting. Our second game, we played the Lady Sharks, we have played this team before and we knew what to expect from them. unfortunately we lost 2-3, once again because out bats weren't working! At this point we were getting frustrated of the fact that no one was hitting, and that really affected us in the next game. Our next game we were play Lake Breeze and they were nothing special, not a team I thought would have came 3rd in Washington. Once again it took us a long time to get our bats going, but their bats were working! They were a great hitting team, and found it very easy to hit off of our 3d pitcher. They had a fair lead, so my coach put me in. They didn't get a hit off of me- thankfully. Now it was our last bats and we were down by one with the tieing run on third, but we couldn't get that run in. We have lost all our games by one run! We new that on Sunday, if we wanted to start winning, that our bats needed to come alive. so we headed back to the hotel- which was right behind a very noisy casino! My mother found it very difficult to sleep that night, but I slept like a baby. The next day everyone was burnt from the sun! Ironically thought, even though we had these great tans, the rain came! We headed down to the field to see that they were starting to flood- not looking good. All the coaches got together and they decided because of the poor conditions, the tournament was canceled! This was our second tournament that it has been rained out, and we have only been down to the states twice! It seems as if our team brings the rain from home to these places! In 2 weeks we are heading back down to Portland for a scouting tournament! All I have to say is..the rain better not come! This tournament could mean a scholarship for me and my teammates and if it were to rain and the tournament got canceled, I think our coach will give up on going down to the states to play some ball.

Brave News Reporters
In this video brave Seattle News Repoters decide they want to take on one of the best pitchers to date- Danielle Lawrie. This video is highly entertaining as many of the News Reporters can't touch Lawrie's pitch, but when they do make any kind of contact, it's like they have accomplished the impossible. Danielle is an amazing pitcher, and is a great inspiration for every young pitcher out there. This video shows just how hard it is to make contact with the ball, especially when there is great movement on it. Hope you enojy!

Pro vs Joe- Danielle Lawrie
Jim Dever (a news reporter), did the insane and decided he wanted to hit against one of the top pitchers in the world- Danielle Lawrie. Danielle Lawrie is currently playing for Washington Huskies which is a University. Last season, the Huskies won the NCAA title, meaning they are currently the number one team. Lawire also plays for Team Canada and is their starting pitcher! For Jim Dever to try to hit one of her pitches, he has to be very brave or very dumb. Even baseball pros find it very difficult to connect with a softball! This video is very entertaining to watch as a softball player, but I hope you will find Jim just as funny as I do! Enjoy!
Home
Other then softball, I love music as well! Yesterday I heard this song playing while in class. I instantly fell in love with it. It is such an upbeat song with really cute lyrics. This song is about a couples love for each other. They talk about how their each others best friends and how home is where ever the other is. This song portrays a real fairytale relationship. Don't we all wish we could have a relationship described in this song? This song has a great beat and there is a high possibility it will get suck in your head- as it did mine! I hope you enjoy this song as much as I did!

3rd in Canada!
Last summer of 2009, my team Richmond Islanders qualified to attend the Softball Nationals. The Nationals were held in Oakville, Ontario. The first two days, all we did was tour around and visit the famous Niagra Falls. I have been to Ontario before, but I never get tired at looking at the beautiful waterfalls. The team decided to go into a haunted house as well, and I was forced to lead the way! Fortunately, the girls in the back got all the people jumping out at them-karma! After having a couple of days to get use the the time change, it was time to get serious. We were playing the best teams in Canada and we knew we had to step up our 'A' game. No one would have thought that the Richmond Islanders would have qualified for Nationals- as we had a rough year at the start. But we didn't let that get to our heads. We played really tough teams, but managed to have a record of 3-1 in the round robin, which put us in a good standing for the semi-finals. In order to be quaranteed a medal, we had to beat Ontario 1, the team favoured to win. The score remained 0-0 for a very long time, and I was pitching! I was so nervous, my knees were shaking on the mound. Luckily, my team was able to get some runs in and we were now ahead, but the other team had last bats! I struck out the first two batters, but the third batter got on base from an error. Now there is a runner on first with the best hitter coming up to bat. Now I could really feel the butterflies. We needed one more out and after that the worst we could do was 3rd! I did eventually strike the girl out and at that moment we were guarenteed a medal at Nationals! Our team was estatic, like we have won the whole tournament! After that game we went back to the hotel for some sleep and the next day we lost to Ontario 2, 3-2, therefore we didn't qualify to the finals. Even though we didn't make it to the finals, our team was very satisfied with the end result. Richmond Islanders are now ranked 3rd in Canada! Our teams great effort and dedication was why we got so far, and I hope we can do the same thing this season!

Lee Wins!
Lets take a break from softball! Here is the clip from American Idol Finale 2010! Ever since the first time I saw Lee Dewyze perform he has been my favourite. His voice is so rustic and I can listen to him sing all day long! I was very enthused when I heard he had won! Crysal Bowersox was always my second favourite too though, and I still believe she'll go far in the music business! I was very happy when they both made it to the finals because they both have amazing voices! It is also disappointing that Simon (the judge) is planning to leave American Idol. His opinion always matter the most, but now that he is leaving the show wont be the same. That said, I can't wait to see his new tv series. Well enjoy the clip and I hope you like Lee as much as I do ;)
